Field House
New Construction
The field house is an infill project on a moderately sloped lot rising in elevation away from the street. A terracing approach was implemented on the site to meet the indoor and outdoor needs of the project. The residence main level and pool are cut into the lot so the building presents less volume to the street. The second level terrace creates a flat back yard field for soccer and outdoor play. Boulders from the excavation are dry stacked beyond the field where the lot returns to a natural habitat with native grasses and beautiful mature Live Oaks.
The Architecture is transitional. While the building forms, roof pitches and materials were constrained by relatively traditional subdivision restrictions, the house leans modern. The color palette is clean and contemporary, and modern details abound such as the smooth cut stone entry, aluminum and steel windows and doors, and a narrow profile fascia. The house moves more contemporary inside with full overlay white oak, black, and white painted cabinets, glass backsplashes, a simple beveled baseboard detail, and an abundance of beautiful modern light fixtures. One of the signature features of this project is a spa-like master bath with dimensional marble tile and a walk-in roman tub shower.
