This project is an extensive interior remodel to update and modernize a traditional Barton Creek residence. A new open plan kitchen was first among the project priorities. Installation of a concealed structural steel beam allowed for removal of load bearing walls to achieve the design vision. This is an active kitchen for a big family with spaces defined for cooking, dining, entertaining, and organization. Flooring and wall finishes were updated throughout the first floor. New solid plank redwood tied into existing wood floor areas for warmth, consistency, and to minimize material transitions.
